Because pets age 7 times faster than we do, twice a year wellness examinations allow us to detect, treat and help correct problems before they become life-threatening. They also provide you with an opportunity to ask our veterinarian questions about nutrition, behavior, dental care, or other issues of concern about your pet.

Dental disease can also affect other organs in the body. Bacteria in the mouth can get into the bloodstream and cause serious infections in the kidneys, liver, lungs and heart. If these problems are not caught and treated quickly, they can result in death. A physical exam combined with appropriate laboratory work can determine if infection in the mouth has spread.

AVID Microchip Idenification
Micro-chipping your pet is a permanent identification method, in case your pet becomes separated from you. We fortunately have returned numerous pets to their owners because they were implanted with a microchip. Just ask Kacie at our front desk. She was lucky to have her pug returned to her after he was stolen and found states away at an animal shelter. Sadly, even when owners have gotten their pets micro-chipped, or adopted a pet with a microchip, a majority of the time we fine they have not been registered with the owners information. This is a very important step to being reunited with your pet.
We currently offer AVID microchip implantation and chip registry services which provides an added degree of protection for your pet in case of accidental separation from your family. For more information about AVID microchips go to www.AVIDID.com.
